Consultation

We’ll spend some time together to catch your vision and your needs and find a design that will serve you and business and help you to achieve your goals.

Responsive

In today’s world where by most estimates the number of hand-held devices is far greater than the number of regular computers, there is no excuse for creating a website that doesn’t work well on those smaller devices. This is a very high priority of mine.

Design and Layout

With my years of experience working on “usability”, I focus on an overall design that works well and flows easily, and where any visitor can find their way around without having to guess too much.

Feature Presentations

A slider or carousel on the front page is a common and attractive element on a home page. There are lots of ways to implement this to highlight the best in your business.

Galleries and Portfolios

Sometimes you have photos you want to share, whether from your travels, examples of your projects, or from your last family vacation. I can present you with lots of options for presenting these photos on your website.

Blog or News Posts

A great way to keep in touch with your customers is to add value to your website by including the occasional tip, insight, or news item related to your business. This is easy to set up, and it will be up to you to decide how you want to use this to improve your business.

Customer Connection

Your contact information will be readily available on every page, we’ll include a contact page, and if you want customer comments on your pages, that’s another way to connect with your customers. If you have accounts on Social Media, we’ll also make sure that we link to those.

SEO – (search engine optimization)

It is important for your customers to find you when they search the internet, and even better, for new customers to find you when they are looking for your services but have never heard of YOU. There are many things that are essential in the setup of your website that make it easier for your customers, oh and by the way, those same things improve your search engine rankings. There are also a few settings “under the hood”, that I’ll make sure are optimized for you.

Security

There are opportunists who want to grab traffic from your site and direct it to theirs, or even just hack your site. We’ll use the best practices to keep you secure.

Load Time Optimization

The more images, fonts, and complexity you have on any page can slow down the load time of your website. I’ll make sure your load times are reasonable, and if they seem to get out of hand, I’ll analyze your website for ways we can improve that. Potential customers don’t wait around too long for websites that take too long to load, so let’s avoid that problem.

Training

What if you want to make some adjustments or add new information or offers to your website after awhile. Of course, you can hire me again to help you out, but one of the beauties of WordPress is that the editor is fairly easy to use. If you want to have a little more of a hands on experience with your website, I would love to sit down with you and teach you the basic skills to get you going.

Maintenance Plans

Once your website is up and running, whether you feel comfortable adding and editing your own content, you should be aware of what monitoring should happen for you website.

  • Domain registration renewal, and hosting renewal
  • Software updates: the WordPress editor and any plug-ins installed
  • Backups
  • Traffic Reports (customer reach)
  • SEO checks
  • Content and layout updates
  • Managing comments and users
